Ed Rose, President & CEO
Ed Rose serves as president and CEO of Open Channel Solutions. Ed's diverse and entrepreneurial background, combined with significant senior management experience, enables him to provide the insights and direction needed to manage a growing technology company.
Ed brings 19 years of experience in high tech leadership, electronic commerce and software distribution to his position. He founded OCS as a division of Modus Media International, a fortune 500 technology supply chain services provider, where he served as CTO. Prior to that, he held senior marketing and product development positions.
Prior to Modus Media International, Ed was with R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company, serving in various technology and product management roles within its Global Software Services unit. He also served as vice president of technology in R.R. Donnelley's Financial Printing unit.
Ed began his career as a co-founder and principal at Inprint Electronic Publishing. During his career, Ed also served as vice president of electronic commerce for Stream International.
Ed earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors at Alfred University and did graduate work at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Electronic Imaging.
Tom Durney, Chief Financial and Operating Officer
Tom Durney is the chief financial and operating officer at OCS. Tom has 18 years of general management experience in the high technology, publishing and financial services industries. His experience growing new organizations and introducing high-technology tools into the business environment make him a great addition to the OCS team.
Tom's background includes 13 years at R.R. Donnelley, where he led new business start-ups, site expansions, financial, and operations teams. Tom then moved to Courier Corporation to be the GM of its MA-based book publishing operation, the fifth largest in the US. Tom spent three years at Courier, ultimately growing his division to generate nearly one-third of Courier's worldwide sales.
Tom also had a three-year tenure leading Fidelity Investments' Electronic Document Management initiative, including P&L ownership of four business units spread across nine manufacturing locations and six states.
Tom earned his bachelor of science degree from Suffolk University.
Mathieu Baissac, CTO
Mathieu Baissac is OCS' chief technology officer and technology visionary. His in-depth knowledge of ERP and licensing technology makes him uniquely qualified to lead the design and implementation of OCS' products.
Mathieu's expertise with the OCS technology, business models and systems dates back to his work with OCS' predecessor, RR Donnelley's Global Software Services division, where he was integral to the development of PDS, the underlying technology in the OCS product line.
Prior experience includes positions of VP, Worldwide Planning and Architecture for Modus Media. He also worked for Stream International's electronic commerce group, where he was responsible for accelerating development of the company's web-based consumer software store. Mathieu also served as Vice President of Development for Corporate Software & Technology, where he led the reseller's ERP implementation.
Mathieu earned his bachelor of arts degree from Carleton College, with a concentration in computer sciences.
Jim Werner, Vice President of Business Development
Jim Werner brings to OCS more than 19 years of experience in developing new products, expanding into untapped markets, and selling complex electronic data solutions. He has been an integral part of OCS's management team since the company's inception. Jim's expertise in growing businesses and selling to high technology companies is well-leveraged in his current position of vice president of business development.
Jim began his career at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company, where he rose to a leadership position in its Global Software Services division, which eventually became part of Stream International, and ultimately Modus Media International. As VP of Sales of the Global Software Services Division, Jim grew new customer revenue by 250%. He then held several positions at Modus Media International, including VP of Eastern Sales, where he helped grow profits by $50 million, and VP of Major Clients, where he generated 50% of the company's revenue through key global accounts including IBM, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and Compaq. In addition, Jim has led market expansion initiatives in both Europe and Latin America.
Jim earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.
