OCS Launches Poetic™ 8.0

Norwood, MA – January 6, 2004 – Open Channel Solutions (OCS), the leader in software licensing management solutions, today announced the availability of Poetic 8.0. This new version of OCS’ web-based software license management system has been reconfigured for the JSP/Struts framework to provide greater control and flexibility for software publishers.

OCS’ Poetic System is recognized for simplifying the complexities inherent in managing license programs and for improving their results. With Poetic 8.0, OCS is making it even easier and more cost-effective for publishers to customize and update their license sites.

“Our customers rely on Poetic to drive license revenue, and they must be able to quickly and easily adapt it for new programs and markets,” said Ed Rose, president and CEO of OCS. “Siemens AG is a great example of a customer that is using the new technology to customize the way users interact with their license system, more effectively manage the costs associated with maintaining a quality, up-to-date system, and ultimately make it easy to do business with them.”

With its open source, flexible architecture, JSP/Struts gives publishers unparalleled flexibility and control over their Poetic implementations. In-house developers can quickly:
  • customize the look-and-feel to reflect their corporate brand standards
  • change web page flows to reflect process updates and enable more effective navigation
  • create localized versions of text to internationalize the system for global users and to reflect an ISV’s business terms
  • integrate Poetic in their corporate portals to support a single sign on user experience
