OPEN CHANNEL SOLUTIONS REACHES MILESTONE WITH RELEASE 15 OF POETIC ENTITLEMENTS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Release provides redesigned Activation module, enhanced user experience and interface
Dedham, MA – October 30, 2007: Open Channel Solutions (OCS), the leading provider of entitlement and e-business management solutions, today announced the general availability of Release 15 of its flagship Poetic®product.
The new release includes a “ground-up” redesign of the Activation module and its underlying architecture. Activation now has a machine-centric paradigm, which better corresponds to how end-user IT managers track licensing information. It also provides simplified handling of multiple product options; improved “key” (license file) handling and key-generator interface; enhanced tracking and management of activation components; improved handling of anonymous activation; and a new single function combining the former Rehost and Move processes.
Release 15 also provides a much-enhanced user experience. The redesigned Activation module, several of the administrative search pages (including Search Companies, Search Products and Filter Notification Templates), and the Merge Companies function have all been brought within the new Poetic user interface standards.
Additional enhancements in Release 15 include: enabling vendors to create large amounts of components at once via a new flat file load; a new Transactions tab that records any transactions against products created or edited from the Poetic UI, a flat file load, or import/export; enabling precise customization of fields displayed when users add or edit Poetic users; more precise control over creating/editing billing and shipping addresses; and easier processing for file-based automated upgrade jobs.
