Building for the Future

Over 100 leaders from across OCS ANZ gathering in one place, the inaugural Trans-Tasman conference was always going to result in a powerhouse of ideas, innovations and introductions - and it certainly delivered.
Held in Nelson, at the top of New Zealand’s South Island, the conference ran over two and a half days and included addresses from leaders and representatives from the business in Australia and New Zealand, as well as attendees from Asia and the United Kingdom.
A number of keynote speakers also took to the podium, including former New Zealand Prime Minister Sir Bill English, influential New Zealand businessman and previous Air New Zealand CEO Rob Fyfe, and motivational speaker Catherine DeVrye - previous Australian Businesswoman of the Year, Canadian and Sydney-sider.
OCS ANZ managing director Gareth Marriott says "this year’s conference was a significant milestone for the recently integrated region, bringing key leaders together from across the two countries. Importantly, the conference also provided the opportunity to 'reset' our region, with the launch of our 2019 business strategy, as well as a focus on the goals we are still striving to achieve this year.
“There were a number of recurring key themes across the three days, including: simple strategy; story telling; one team; strong relationships; outstanding customer service and delivery; and revenue and growth. But the overwhelming message was one focused on people. We are a people business, and it was reassuring and heart-warming to see the team take this message as seriously as I do.”
