People and community
As a global responsible business with strong values and a rich history, we place huge importance on our cohesive CSR programme. Family values and ethos have been behind the success of OCS since its beginnings in 1900. Today, our business has the scale and commitment to make a significant and positive contribution to the communities in which we work.
We know that someone’s social or economic background can have a huge impact on their ability to reach their full potential. That’s why we support and deliver programmes that develop the capacity and skills of socially and economically disadvantaged people in the communities in which we work.
The issues we’ve chosen relate to who we are. OCS employs almost 3,000 people across the Republic of Ireland from diverse backgrounds.
Examples of our work include:
Supporting the Irish Cancer Society
An annual coffee morning in conjunction with the Irish Cancer Society. OCS colleagues bake cakes for this occasion and we also donate cakes and coffee. Colleagues have th eopportunity to purchase tea, coffee and cakes, and all monies are donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
In Ireland, we have started work in the local community with a very worthy community group, Naomh Fionnbara. Naomh Fionnbara carries out work with the disadvantaged in their own communities, particularly in the area of youth development.
We are currently working on an exciting new sponsorship deal watch this space for an update.
Sponsorship of the Irish Paralympics Team 2012 and 2016
We sponsored the 2016 and 2012 Irish Paralympic Team, and the 2012 and 2016 OCS Irish Paralympic Awards inspired by the level of dedication and commitment the athletes show to their respective goals.
