OCS Aviation launches intelligent technology

In a UK-first, OCS has launched intelligent technology at Glasgow Airport, designed to run our PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility) services more effectively.
AvTech - Connect was piloted at OCS Ireland and is now being rolled out across our UK PRM clients. It uses beacon technology to collect location data from 140 transmitters installed around the airport to provide an accurate view of where passenger consignments and staff are on their journey.
The business has completed its first full week with the technology in production, with James Baxter, Head of Aviation Technology, describing the transition as "a successful one with minimal disruption to the operation."
The software combines flight information and special service request bookings to create jobs, ensuring that OCS’ operatives on the ground are in the right place, at the right time to assist passengers through the airport. Colleagues in the field have been provided with smartphones, which can scan airline boarding passes for a quicker booking-in process and feature an optional customer survey.
Jason Galbraith, Operations Manager, Glasgow Airport, says: "Both colleagues and client alike are praising the system for how easy it is to use, how smart it looks and how effective it is at giving all concerned visibility over the entire PRM operation at Glasgow Airport."
