Recruit from the widest possible talent pool and break down barriers to opportunities
We will continue to grow our participation in programmes, from local employment projects to government initiatives, that successfully support people into work placements and sustainable careers at OCS. We will also pilot new approaches, learning what works and continually refreshing our recruitment strategies accordingly.
Provide access to valuable careers for all as an employer of almost 4,000
Every day almost 4,000 of our people go out to work in Australia and New Zealand to keep our communities and public places clean, hygienic and safe. By offering them ongoing training and support, we can offer long-lasting careers – not just jobs – both in our own offices and across our customer sites. We are already increasing our investment in learning and development pathways, such as apprenticeships and scholarships, and continually look to hire potential talent from underrepresented groups. We believe every person should have the chance to realise their full potential.
Foster and invest in a diverse and inclusive culture
Our team members truly reflect the global nature of our business representing over 130 different nationalities worldwide, and we follow inclusive recruitment processes. Our Code of Conduct drives an open, respectful and transparent culture and we have zero-tolerance to discrimination or unethical behaviour. To further build a diverse and inclusive culture, we will continue to expand our investment in wellbeing, mental health support, diversity and equality training programs.
Meaningfully support the communities we work in through our supply chain
By securing products and services from small businesses and local community enterprises where possible and working with our supply partners to add social and economic value far beyond our own direct employment.
Supporting our communities
Our front-line team members interact with members of the public every day at shopping centres, hospitals, airports and other locations. We are part of the communities in which we work, live and play. We have an active role in local and national initiatives aimed at improving lives. Learn more.
We support the New Zealand Government’s commitment to achieving cultural, environmental, social, and economic outcomes for all its procurement activities. We do this through ensuring the health and safety of our team members and customers, protecting our environment through waste and carbon reduction, caring for our communities, and ensuring the wellbeing of our team members.
