As a part of the OCS Group, an international facilities management company, PCS Thailand follows OCS Group Sustainability Strategy to build a better future and focus on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, and advancing social mobility by initiating Neighbouring Country Colleagues Programme where PCS Thailand signs MOUs with neighbouring country governments to bring in frontliners from neighbouring countries to work in Thailand. This is to ensure that all of their employees are treated as equally as their Thai counterparts. The programme also provides answers to shortage in the labour force within the service industry which has become a significant post-Covid problem in Thailand.
Furthermore, the Neighbouring Country Colleagues Programme also provides a social and economic upliftment to the frontliners of neighbouring countries who seek better livelihoods outside of their own country. In parallel, by bringing colleagues from neighbouring countries, PCS Thailand is able to uplift, and upgrade the positions of Thai frontline colleagues from frontliners to more supervisory roles in the business. Year to date, PCS Thailand has promoted hundreds of frontliners in the business to supervisory-level roles. This uplifts the income and progression pathway for Thai frontliners in the company’s business.
All in all, the Neighbouring Country Colleagues Programme has benefitted over 2,000 employees. Apart from the economic benefit that has directly impacted this group of frontliners, the company has simultaneously increased the diversity in the workforce and also provided genuine routes of progression to PCS family members.
PCS Thailand currently has more than 30,000 employees, approximately 2,000 of which are from Laos thanks to the MOU signed in 2016 which was a part of the Neighbouring Country Colleagues Programme initiative.
