Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust specialises in inpatient and community mental health services, looking after 1.5 million people. It needed vital front-of-house services.
The brief
To deliver helpdesk, catering, portering and domestic services across the trust, including eight hospitals, a day care centre and 72 community sites.
The OCS solution
We installed a Computer Aided Facilities Management system – a database of core assets across 400 locations - to coordinate everything from our colleagues to our catering.
We also introduced mobile facilities supervisors to monitor, audit and support operations, from the delivery of over 170,000 patient meals a year to the handling of about 3,900 calls per annum.
The trust has benefitted from our expert knowledge, with its colleagues gaining qualifications in health and safety, among others. We also support its health and wellbeing initiatives. For example, our colleagues work alongside service users on the Grow Your Own Project, a form of therapy in which patients grow food for use in the trust's kitchens.
In OCS Healthcare, we have appointed a first-class service provider who shares our vision of putting the service user at the heart of everything we do. The dialogue and working relations to date have been extremely positive and I am sure that future relations will be built on partnering foundations to the mutual benefit of both organisations.
