CAA report recognises 'very good' service for passengers with reduced mobility at Bristol Airport

Passengers with reduced mobility are getting a 'very good' experience when using our special assistance service at Bristol Airport, according to the latest Airport Accessibility Report from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Bristol Airport was one of 15 airports rated 'very good' in the 2019/2020 report, issued on International Disability Day (Thursday 3 December). It is the first time the airport has been rated 'very good' - the highest rating - since the report was first published in 2016. In it, the CAA notes that we provided a consistently on-time service for more than 100,000 passengers throughout the year. And more than 90% of passengers who responded to a survey on the standard of assistance rated our service as good or excellent.
Bristol Airport has invested in facilities for travellers with reduced mobility and we've been working with our customer to improve the passenger experience. This includes rolling out our hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard scheme and introducing the Ramble Tag mobility aid for visually impaired travellers.
John Wright, Director of Aviation & Gateways, OCS, says: "This rating is the result of the fantastic work that OCS and Bristol Airport carry out day after day in true collaboration. Our local team is constantly working to innovate within the boundaries of the service and I'm delighted that this has been recognised. We have a strong relationship with Bristol Airport, and the passengers who enjoy our services. We look forward to continuing to evolve, as proven partners of this vital service, into the future."
Dave Lees, CEO, Bristol Airport, adds: "It is vitally important everyone who travels through Bristol Airport feels confident, and extra help and assistance is available when needed. Working in collaboration with OCS, we regularly engage with local disability forums and national charities to review the service and facilities we provide and discuss how we can improve the facilities for the future. We look forward to continuing this work ensuring a seamless journey through the airport for all customers."
