OCS Head of Cleaning, Yvonne Taylor, has been appointed to the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA).
The CSSA provides a national voice for contract cleaning companies, representing the UK cleaning industry on government bodies and non-profit groups such as the Living Wage Service Provider Leadership Group.
As a board director, Yvonne will be helping to raise standards, ensuring those new to the industry understand best practice. She will also be lobbying for a change in attitudes towards cleaning providers.
She says: "After 25 years in cleaning services, it is a privilege to represent the industry, which I passionately believe is a profession and not just a necessity. Cleaning teams around the world are an essential cog in any facility; very few would notice if the CEO did not turn up for the day, but everyone would notice when the cleaner didn't."
Yvonne, who started her career as a cleaner, is also a member of the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), which appointed her as a corporate representative last year. She adds: "I'm proud to be a voice for an industry out of which I have made my career."
