OCS visited East London on UK Employability Day to chat to the local community about job and progression opportunities in our business.
Colleagues from HR and Business & Industry took part in an Employment Careers Day organised by The Bromley by Bow Centre. Aimed at 'Closing the Gaps', the event offered support to social housing tenants, people with disabilities and those from ethnic minorities looking for employment and training, with a focus on local jobs.
HR's Rhiannon Raymond-Hill spoke about life at OCS and the team was on hand to answer questions and give one-to-one support to those wishing to explore our careers page and apply for vacancies. Five people submitted applications on the spot.
OCS has worked with the centre, a registered charity, since 2014 through the OCS Foundation, investing in a research project into the benefits of the Bromley By Bow model, as well as supporting a UK-wide People into Work programme.
Bob Taylor, CEO, UK, Ireland and Middle East, says: "We were delighted to be able to support The Bromley by Bow Centre on Employability Day. As a responsible business, we want to give back to the communities in which we work and one of the ways we can do this is by helping those who are looking for work."
