Working closely with our customers to support local charities

Our customer, DC Thomson, needed to find a charity to donate a potential artic lorry load of excess stock from their online shop, that was stored in their warehouse in Northampton.

Allison Diamond, Area Director at OCS asked our customer, Bon Accord Aberdeen, to provide us with details of their nominated charity, Charlie House. Craig Stevenson, Centre Manager, aware of the amount and type of stock available, was keen to help and offered a vacant unit in Bon Accord to store the items on behalf of Charlie House.

The collaboration between us and our customers allowed an artic lorry load of stock to be collected from DC Thomson, including 18 large pallets loaded with cardboard boxes full of items, and deliver it to storage in Aberdeen for distribution to many good causes.

Many of the items have already been donated, and it’s been a great opportunity to support worthwhile charitable causes and local communities.

Many charities have benefitted from the relationship we now have with DC Thomson, thanks to OCS bringing us together."
