We take a global approach to health and safety, adopting best practice around the world. This is supported by our Global Health and Safety Best Practice Group.

Sharing expertise
Our Global Health and Safety Best Practice Group shares processes and lessons learnt through event investigation, audit and review, enabling continuous improvement.

Creating trust
Our colleagues participate in active monitoring across all regions and all our executive board members carry out regular safety visits.
Our in-house accident reporting system records accidents and near-miss incidents at customer sites and can be accessed by all colleagues via mobile phone. We use this information to take action and track performance.
We also keep an open dialogue about safety issues through our worker engagement visits.

Gold standard
Our health and safety standards at customer sites have been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). We received five RoSPA Gold Awards for Occupational Health & Safety in 2019, bringing our total number of RoSPAs to 24.
We were also one of the first companies in the UK to achieve migration to the new international standard for occupational health and safety management systems, ISO 45001. The certification, which covers the UK and Ireland, followed a five-month-long assessment by the British Standards Institution at 20 customer sites. The new standard promotes a proactive approach to health and safety, and greater emphasis is placed upon leadership engagement and colleague consultation.
