James was supported by his Employment Support Officer at Clarion Futures through the Love London Working programme, who helped James improve his CV to reflect his skills and interests. As we have an established partnership with Clarion Futures, he was then put forward for a job opportunity with us via our People into Work programme.
James was invited for an interview with our team at the Royal Parks, and our people centred approach allowed James to feel comfortable during the phased interview process, and he was subsequently offered a two-day trial.
The team were so impressed with James’ hard work and passion for gardening and ground maintenance, that he was offered a role and is now employed as Ground Maintenance Operative at Hyde Park, London.
With the support of our Royal Parks team, James is doing well since joining OCS. His new role with us is helping James to further develop his skills and career.
David, James’ dad, spoke about our People into Work Programme and how it has supported his son.
“After trying for several years to find a service suitable for James, that understood the difficulties he had when facing employment, Clarion and OCS took the time to find a role that allowed a phased interview and employment process, which is great for James who is happy and feels included within the team. He is super keen to develop his ongoing skills and increase his working hours.”
